Manual Operation
Identification is a critical step in intralogistics when manually placing packages on the conveyors of automated storage systems. The process of manual import is usually associated with the first manual reading of the barcode for easy identification. Once identified, these items will be handled and stored through automated or semi-automated storage systems.

Identification is a critical step in intralogistics when manually placing packages on the conveyors of automated storage systems. The process of manual import is usually associated with the first manual reading of the barcode for easy identification. Once identified, these items will be handled and stored through automated or semi-automated storage systems.
Commonly used barcode readers for packaging identification in manual operations and intralogistics are rugged handheld scanners (PowerScan™) and wearable scanners (HandScanner), depending on the specific application requirements. Crucially, the high-speed reading capability and rapidity of the barcode reader. In addition, the ergonomics and robustness of the reader are helpful for efficient, flawless manual placement . Often a large number of packages are processed per hour, and the ease of use and reading performance of the scanner is the key to achieving high operational efficiency. There are three different ways to place barcodes on packages. The first is to manually print labels. Alternative methods such as automatic printing and labeling have lower labor costs. Or print barcodes directly on packages.
Manual Operation with Barcode Reading
Datalogic S.p.A. offers two unique and efficient intralogistics solutions to aid in the manual reading of barcodes. They provide good read performance even on low-quality or poorly printed barcodes. Provides multiple types of barcode reading capabilities, such as 1D, 2D and DPM. Features a unique “green dot” technology that provides quick visual feedback when reading is successful:
1. Power Scan 9500
The series of rugged industrial handheld scanners for manual scanning of packages / totes on the conveyor side. The beauty of the 9500 series is that it is easy to install and configure, making it easy to replace when needed.
2. Hand Scanner
This is a lightweight and compact wearable hands-free scanning device that supports extended operation and offers fast battery charging. This tiny device also provides tactile reading feedback (as well as visual and auditory feedback). For maximum operational efficiency, simply bundle the scanning device with any of Digi-Key’s mobile terminals.
