Compressive Load Cells

Compression load cells are one of the main categories or types of load cells commonly found in the weighing industry. As the name implies, compression load cells measure thrust or squeeze force and are usually mounted below the object to be measured or weighed. Unlike tension load cells, they are unidirectional and are designed to measure downward compression only. Tension load cells are also often capable of measuring pressure. The actual inner workings of compression load cells can vary widely. They can be based on shear, bend, ring-torsion, or column measurements.
