Time of Flight (TOF) Distance Sensors
Time of flight(TOF) distance sensors use tiny lasers to emit infrared light, which bounces off any objects and returns to the sensor. Based on the time difference between the emission of the light and its return to the sensor after being reflected by an object, the sensor is able to measure the distance between the object and the sensor. Compared with other distance sensors such as ultrasonic or laser, time of flight distance sensors can accurately detect objects in a short time without being affected by humidity, air pressure and temperature, and are suitable for outdoor and indoor use.
